Avengers #6
Mark Waid and Mike Del Mundo's 2017 run on Earth's Mightiest Heroes reaches its sixth chapter, and Alex Ross delivers a cover that captures the full sweep of the team's legacy. Two generations of Avengers are framed within a towering cross-shaped corridor: the original lineup — Iron Man, Ant-Man, Captain America, Thor, and the Hulk — charging forward in the upper panel, while a more recent roster including Spider-Man, Sam Wilson's Captain America, and Hawkeye struggle in the lower half, all overshadowed by the looming, glowing face of Kang the Conqueror. Ross's painterly mastery makes the stakes feel genuinely grand, and with Waid scripting and Del Mundo's vivid interiors waiting inside, this is a satisfying entry in one of Marvel's most visually ambitious runs of the decade.
