This Vertigo issue from November 2017 centers on one of the most delightfully unexpected images in the series: a corgi dressed in a bright yellow superhero costume bearing a bold "G" emblem, gazing upward with quiet dignity while caped figures loom in the background. Kurt Busiek's story is titled "Who's a Good Dog?" — which, paired with Alex Ross's beautifully painted cover, suggests the kind of heartfelt, human (and perhaps canine) perspective that Astro City does so well. Ross's photorealistic brushwork gives the costumed pup a genuine sense of personality and presence, making this one of the more charming covers the series has produced.
