Astérix #37
The cover by Didier Conrad captures the spirit of the series beautifully: Astérix and Obélix race forward in a golden chariot — Dogmatix tucked in beside them — while a chaotic pack of rival competitors on horseback churns up dust behind them, with a sun-drenched Italian landscape and a smoking volcano visible in the background. The title "Astérix et la Transitalique" promises a cross-Italy adventure, and the sheer energy of that crowded road scene suggests the Gauls are very much in the thick of it. Written by Jean-Yves Ferri with art by Didier Conrad, this 2017 album is a genuinely fun addition to the long-running series.
