Astérix #31
This 31st volume of the Asterix series, originally published in 2001, sees the indomitable Gauls embroiled in a case of mistaken identity when the actress Latraviata arrives in their village. The story involves a pair of magic potion helmets, a plot by the Roman politician Pompey, and the return of several characters' parents, including Asterix's father Astronomix and Obelix's father Obélodalix. The album was the first to be both written and drawn by Albert Uderzo following the death of co-creator René Goscinny, though it was actually the second solo Uderzo album in the series' numbering.
In "Astérix et Latraviata," Albert Uderzo delivers another whimsical adventure set in the Gaulish village, featuring the familiar faces of Astérix, Abraracourcix, Agecanonix, Assurancetourix, Astronomix, Bonemine, Bonusmalus, and Cétautomatix, all brought to life through Uderzo’s distinctive art and the collaborative work of Mébarki and Janvier.
