With help from his usual mix of luck and stubbornness, Jughead saves the day—and a shared lunch—when the boat with their picnic drifts away. Bill Vigoda’s art brings the chaos and charm of this classic 1952 adventure to life, while Bob Montana’s cover captures the moment with signature style.
In "Let's Face It!", Jughead’s latest scheme to avoid schoolwork backfires when Mr. Weatherbee seizes his collection of disguises. When he tries to trick the new kid with a quick costume swap, he accidentally dons the gear of the son of a famous prizefighter—leading to a chaotic mix-up. Mr. Weatherbee, ever the resourceful disciplinarian, then uses the disguise kit to play the part of the school’s janitor.
In "A Raft of Trouble," Jughead tries to make amends after unintentionally hurting Bruinhilda’s feelings by inviting her to a picnic, only to run into trouble when their boat can’t handle her weight. Forced to take a raft to the island, they face new challenges when Bruinhilda accidentally breaks the dock and drifts away with the boat carrying their lunches. Jughead springs into action to rescue both boat and friend, earning a grateful smile and a meager meal — one sandwich each, much to his dismay.
In "A Tight Fit," Jughead’s new jacket draws envy—especially from Reggie, who offers a baseball glove in trade. Jughead agrees, happy he got the jacket free with two sweaters, but when rain hits, the jacket shrinks on Reggie, leaving him in a very snug situation.
In "A Dog's Life," Archie attempts to hypnotize Jughead into believing he’s a dog, convinced he’s finally made it work—until Jughead proves otherwise by dressing a real dog in his clothes and mimicking his voice from behind a fence. The story unfolds with classic 1952 humor, playing on Archie’s overconfidence and Jughead’s deadpan skepticism.
