When Dr. Zarkon is imprisoned, he unleashes a monstrous pigeon the size of a 747 to wreak havoc. Meanwhile, Gizmo and Wheels are en route to Blatvaria, the realm of the melancholy Dr. Gloom, when their plane is suddenly attacked by the mysterious and brooding Hector Von Gloom.

In "Double Trouble!! Chapter Two," the giant pigeon's sudden flight to New York sets off a chain reaction when news breaks of an airliner hijacked to the far-off nation of Blatvaria. Red quickly divides the team—himself, Spike, and Squint heading into the unknown to rescue Wheels and Gizmo, while Nitro and Angel face the towering menace of the giant pigeon back home.

In "Double Trouble!! Chapter Three," Angel teams up with Nitro to outsmart a giant pigeon, while Spike takes down one of Dr. Gloom’s mechanical foes. Meanwhile, Red, Squint, and Spike race to rescue Gizmo and Wheels, who’ve been captured in Dr. Gloom’s hidden torture chamber.

In "Double Trouble!! Chapter Four," Jo and the Explorers face their most humiliating trial yet when Gloom traps them in a torture chamber featuring the notoriously off-key flautist Blanfir. Freed after the ordeal, the team regroups as Nitro and Angel launch a clever plan using a giant pigeon balloon from last year’s Thanksgiving Parade to lure the monster pigeon away. The decoy and the creature vanish together into the mysterious land of Blatvaria, where Nitro’s pre-programmed computer awaits to take control of the two giants.
