“Cops and Robbers!”

Archie #91 from 1958 captures everything charming about Riverdale's favorite redhead in one perfectly timed diner scene. Seated at a round table with Jughead and Veronica, a dreamy-eyed Archie sighs "I wouldn't try!" when asked whether he'd bother escaping a cave if sealed inside with Veronica — floating hearts and all. It's a delightful snapshot of Archie's lovesick personality, and at just ten cents, this issue delivered maximum charm for the price.

Archie gets a part-time job at Pop Tate's. Reggie tries to get Archie fired by ordering an improbable sandwich of "cucumbers, chopped liver, hard-boiled eggs, tuna fish, chopped walnuts, and a slice of salami." The stunt backfires when the sandwich turns out to be popular.
