“Thread Bare!”

In "Thread Bare!", Betty’s lack of grass prompts Reggie to send Archie and Jughead across the lake with a lawn roller—empty and meant to be filled after transport. Jughead’s clever (if mischievous) idea to fill it with water on Veronica’s side sets off a chain of events that turns a simple chore into a full-blown, rowboat-sized disaster. Art by Bill Vigoda brings the chaos to life in this classic 1955 Archie adventure.

Betty's cabin across the lake from Veronica doesn't have any grass for a lawn. Reggie gives orders to Archie and Jughead to take equipment over on a rowboat. Included is a lawn roller, which is empty and is supposed to be filled after it's taken across. Jughead gets the bright idea to fill the roller with water on Veronica's side, which leads Captain Reggie to go down with his ship.
