Reggie calls in a loan to Archie by demanding use of his jalopy that evening. Archie plans on using Veronica's car to take her to the dance, but her father has forbidden her to drive for a month because of her bad driving. Reggie, according to his plan, then shows up and takes Veronica. Mr. Lodge then decides to let Archie borrow Veronica's car to take Betty to the dance.
