The cover of this 2018 Archie Comics issue sets a quietly charged romantic mood: the silhouettes of Archie's distinctive red hair and a blonde (Betty, unmistakably) face each other in soft white against a lavender background, while in the foreground Jughead — crown and all — and a sharp-eyed dark-haired Veronica stand back to back, cool and composed. Audrey Mok's clean, elegant linework gives the whole image a sophisticated tension that feels a world away from the classic Archie you might remember. With Mark Waid and Ian Flynn on writing duties, this "Riverdale's The Bachelor" chapter looks like a fresh, drama-filled turn for Riverdale's most tangled love story.
