“Constant Replay”

The mod 1970s are in full swing as Archie and Reggie find themselves hilariously out of place outside the "Carnaby Boutique," where a salesgirl pointedly reminds them "This boutique is for girls!" — to which the boys cheerfully reply that's exactly what they're looking for. Dan DeCarlo and Rudy Lapick pack the cover with groovy fashion energy: mini-skirted girls browsing racks of colorful clothes, a beads display up front, and even a tiny Archie and companion dancing atop the logo. It's a wonderfully breezy snapshot of early-'70s pop culture filtered through Riverdale's irresistible charm.
