Arak / Son of Thunder #6
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeErnie Colón's cover for this 1982 DC adventure sets a gripping tone, depicting a bare-chested Arak locked in mid-air combat with a fanged, dark-caped supernatural attacker — blades drawn on both sides against a stark yellow moon. "The Stalkers of the Snows!" promises the kind of sword-and-sorcery tension that made this series a standout in DC's early-'80s fantasy lineup. Roy Thomas and Ernie Colón bring their considerable talents to what looks like a chilling confrontation worthy of the Son of Thunder himself.

Arak manages to kill the villainous Argalia, driving Angelica away and saving the king's knights. But, Malagigi is still missing after being carried away by demons, so the king gives Arak a writ of passage, and sends him in search of the sorcerer. Valda asks to accompany Arak on his voyage, and they make their way into the Alps. During the night, they are attacked by vampires. After successfully killing the undead beings, Arak learns they were spawned from the remnants of the camp followers of Hannibal's campaigns against the Romans.
