In "Turnier der Giganten," the sorcerer Malagigi uncovers a dangerous mission: Angelica and her brother Argalia, heirs to the kingdom of White Cathay, have been sent to rally the knights of Carolus Magnus against an impending barbarian invasion. When a knight is bested in a joust—his defeat tainted by sorcery—he must honorably pledge to join them. As the journey unfolds, Arak and Malagigi track the siblings to a hidden forest camp, only to be ambushed. There, Arak is wounded and Malagigi is seized by Angelica’s demonic allies, leaving their fate uncertain.

In "Das Monster im Schnee!", Arak ventures into the frozen Alps with Valda, seeking the missing sorcerer Malagigi after a demonic attack. As they travel through the snow-laden mountains, they are ambushed by vampires—creatures born from the forgotten remains of Hannibal’s ancient army. The journey grows colder, both in temperature and in dread, as Arak and Valda face the chilling legacy of a long-dead war.
