Aquaman: The Waterbearer #[nn]
Aquaman: The Waterbearer collects Rick Veitch's run on the character, brought to life by penciler Yvel Guichet and inker Mark Propst — and the cover art alone signals that this is Aquaman operating far outside his comfort zone. A shirtless, bare-armed Aquaman surges forward with a glowing, water-formed hand, while a figure in red and black brandishes a staff behind him, both men mid-battle against a churning backdrop of shadowy fanged creatures and an enormous sea beast below wielding the golden trident. It's a kinetic, densely layered image that captures the tension of the "Castaway!" storyline and makes a compelling case for this chapter of Aquaman's history.
