Aquaman #3
Aquaman #3 (2017), published by Panini Deutschland, features the story "Gezeitenwechsel" with art by Brad Walker and Andrew Hennessy, colors by Gabe Eltaeb, and letters by RAM. The issue includes Aquaman and other characters from the DC Universe, presented in a visually rich, action-driven narrative.
In "Gezeitenwechsel," Mera grapples with doubt after the Widowhood's Seer warns of a Fatal Queen who will bring the Deluge, threatening both Atlantis and the surface world. As fears grow and her marriage to Arthur hangs in the balance, Mera receives a cryptic message from Lt. Joanna Stubbs, leading her to uncover N.E.M.O.'s hidden role in escalating tensions between Atlantis and the United States. Their alliance is suddenly threatened when Broadside, a N.E.M.O. agent, attacks them both.
In "Kritischer Zustand," Arthur lies injured in a hospital bed, his name once again on the lips of a public that now sees him as a hero after his clash with the Shaggy Man. Mera and Jo arrive at the Amnesty Bay hospital, where a crowd of supporters has gathered, their faith in Arthur renewed. As Arthur recovers, he learns from Jo about N.E.M.O.'s efforts to undermine Atlantis, while Black Manta prepares a new escalation—hijacking global tensions by framing Atlanteans for attacks on American cities.
In "Die Flut, Kapitel 1," Aquaman races to expose the truth behind a series of devastating attacks on East Coast cities—attacks orchestrated by N.E.M.O. forces disguised as Atlanteans. With President Obama declaring war and the U.S. preparing a covert strike to assassinate him, Arthur must prove his innocence before the Justice League arrives in Atlantis to confront him.
In "Die Flut, Kapitel 2," Aquaman races to prove Atlantis is being framed by N.E.M.O. as attacks on the U.S. escalate, pleading with the Justice League to intervene at the White House. When a N.E.M.O. vessel—disguised as a U.S. warship—launches a surprise assault on Atlantis, Aquaman’s desperate fight ends in failure, leaving no living crew to expose the deception. Without irrefutable proof, the U.S. refuses to halt hostilities and instead authorizes the Aqua-Marines to hunt down Aquaman in a deadly mission.
In "Die Flut, Kapitel 3," Aquaman races to uncover the truth behind a deadly assault on Atlantis, where the Aquamarines’ assassination attempt leaves high-ranking Atlanteans dead or dying. With Mera and Jurok Byss at his side, Arthur follows a N.E.M.O. signal to its hidden base, only to confront the chilling reality that Black Manta is behind the attack. As tensions rise and the threat of war with the surface world looms, Aquaman must decide how far he’ll go to prevent bloodshed—before it’s too late.
In "Die Flut, das Finale," Aquaman confronts Black Manta at the N.E.M.O. base, leading to a desperate showdown that ends in the base’s self-destruction. With the fate of the underwater world hanging in the balance, Aquaman and Superman deliver damning evidence to the White House, setting the stage for a pivotal moment of diplomacy between Atlantis and the United States.
