Aquaman #2
Aquaman #2 (2017) from Panini Deutschland continues the German-language edition of the series, featuring the characters Aquaman and Mera in a story titled "Der Untergang, Kapitel 5: Einschneidende Maßnahmen." The issue is written by Dan Abnett and Carolin Hidalgo, with art by Philippe Briones, inks by Andrew Hennessy, colors by Gabe Eltaeb, and letters by RAM. The cover is illustrated by Brad Walker and Andrew Hennessy.
In "Der Untergang, Kapitel 5: Einschneidende Maßnahmen," Aquaman and Mera flee a federal holding facility only to face American forces ordered to eliminate them. As tensions escalate, Tula readies an Atlantean war fleet for retaliation, while Black Jack delivers Black Manta to the N.E.M.O. base in Antarctica, where he encounters the enigmatic Fisher King.
In "Der Untergang, das Finale: Die Entscheidung," Aquaman stands at the brink of war, facing off against the U.S. military while Superman steps in to mediate—only to be drawn into the clash. As Tula leads Atlantean forces toward Washington to defend her king, Black Manta seizes the moment to turn the tide against the Fisher King.
In "Schwer ruht das Haupt, das eine Krone drückt," Aquaman grapples with the weight of leadership as he returns to Atlantis, navigating political tensions and the aftermath of a mysterious attack that implicates Atlantean forces in the sinking of the USS Pontchartrain. As he investigates the truth behind the sabotage, Black Manta seizes control of N.E.M.O., turning the organization into a new threat that strikes at the heart of Atlantis.
In "Unaufhaltsam," Mera faces the trials of Atlantean tradition under the guidance of Mother Cetea and the Widowhood, proving her worth to join Arthur as his equal—just as an unstoppable force, the Shaggy Man, emerges from the depths, unleashed by Black Manta and N.E.M.O. With Atlantis under siege, Aquaman, the Drift, and the Atlantean forces must confront a foe that evolves with every attack, turning the city’s defenses into its greatest weapon.
In "Eine Liga für sich," Aquaman stands alone against the unstoppable Shaggy Man as his rampage reaches Amnesty Bay. With the Justice League out of reach and Atlantean forces overwhelmed, the king of the deep must confront the indomitable threat without backup—determined to protect the surface world, even if it means facing the impossible on his own.
