Aquaman, having tracked down the N.E.M.O. base, battles Black Manta. Fearing a defeat that would expose N.E.M.O.'s secrets, Black Manta triggers a self-destruct of the base, seemingly killing all N.E.M.O. agents aboard, including himself. Aquaman, accompanied by Superman, travels to the White House with evidence of Black Manta's treachery, and Arthur and the President hold a joint press conference announcing peace between Atlantis and the United States.
