In "Captain Sykes' Deadly Missions, Chapter 1," Aquaman faces off against the cunning Sykes, who seeks to unleash a monstrous Genie-Creature from a magical chest using a cursed sea shell. With art by Nick Cardy and a cover by the same, this 1962 DC classic delivers a thrilling start to a high-seas adventure, where a clever swap of the shell thwarts a dangerous scheme before it begins.
In "Captain Sykes' Deadly Missions, Chapter 1," Aquaman and Aqualad race to recover two ancient treasures forged by a long-dead wizard, each a key to freeing a captured vessel held by the enigmatic Captain Sykes. When Aquaman locates the first— a mysterious magic chest— its release unleashes a strange gas that transforms nearby sea creatures and Aqualad into raging, towering giants, plunging the underwater scene into chaos before the effects finally fade.
In "Chapter 2: Prisoners of Pecos Island," Aquaman and Aqualad journey to a remote island haunted by a monstrous Mosasaur that has imprisoned its people. As they uncover the truth behind the beast’s origin, they must outwit a creature born of ancient magic to free the islanders and claim the legendary shell.
In "Chapter 3: The Menace of the Genie-Creature," Jo and Aquaman face off against the cunning Sykes, who seeks to unleash a colossal winged sea-horse from a magical chest using a stolen shell. With the tide turning, Aquaman outsmarts Sykes by replacing the real shell with a decoy, stopping the ancient creature from being freed. The story unfolds with high stakes beneath the waves, where clever traps and underwater danger test both hero and villain.
