Aquaman #33
Nick Cardy's cover for this 1967 DC gem is pure Silver Age energy — a wild, wave-crashing scene where a yellow-swimsuited Aqua-Girl and a red-costumed Aqualad surge through churning surf, sending uniformed police officers tumbling off a spinning harbor vessel. A speech bubble at the bottom corner — featuring a partially visible blond figure — declares "It's all my fault! Aqualad and Aqua-Girl have gone berserk!", and the cover's bold tagline promises she's "wild, wet and whacky." Bob Haney's story, brought to life by Cardy's expressive, kinetic line work, looks like a thoroughly entertaining ride through undersea adventure with a cast clearly out of control in the best possible way.
