Anima #9
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeAnima #9 brings a genuinely unsettling cover from penciler Steve Crespo and inker Will Blyberg, depicting the blonde, wide-eyed Anima and several other figures — including a dark-skinned figure in yellow-striped clothing and a woman with flowing red hair — seemingly swallowed by a swirling vortex riddled with black holes and writhing green serpentine creatures. The disorienting, gravity-defying composition sells the sense of helplessness and dread perfectly, pulling every character in different directions across a chaotic grey void. With writers Elizabeth Hand and Paul Witcover steering the story titled "N.O. Future," this 1994 DC series continues to prove it had a genuinely distinctive, eerie vision all its own.
