Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld #11

The penultimate chapter of DC's twelve-issue maxi-series arrives with a cover by George Pérez (inked by Ernie Colón) that sets a suitably dramatic tone: Amethyst strides forward sword in hand, her pink cape billowing, while a caped companion follows behind her through an ornate archway — above which looms a massive, brooding stone-carved face that seems to watch their every step. Shattered gemstone crystals scatter the ground around them, hinting that Gemworld itself is fracturing as the story races toward its finale. With Dan Mishkin, Gary Cohn, and Ernie Colón delivering "The Last Battle!" there's a real sense that everything has been building to this moment.
