Alpha Flight #5

Issue five of this eight-part Marvel limited series finds Canada's premier super-team armed, unified, and pushing forward with unmistakable purpose. The cover by Carlo Pagulayan and Jason Paz shows Guardian leading the charge — heavy rifle in hand — flanked by a determined Vindicator, Northstar, Aurora, Snowbird, Sasquatch, Marrina, and Weapon Omega, all bristling with firearms beneath the looming, skeletal visage of a cloaked villain that dominates the background. Writers Greg Pak and Fred Van Lente, with interior art from Dale Eaglesham and colors by Sonia Oback, have steered "The Last Refuge" to a point where Alpha Flight clearly has its sights set on something — or someone — formidable.
