All Star Western #4
This volume collects the final issues of the New 52 All Star Western series, wrapping up Jonah Hex's adventures in the Old West and Gotham City. The story arc, titled 'Gold Standard,' follows Hex as he confronts a dangerous conspiracy involving gold and corruption, with art and writing from the series' creative team. This edition also includes backup features starring other Western heroes from the DC Universe.
In "Standing on Death's Doorstep," a plague has sealed off Gotham’s most dangerous district, Death's Doorstep, leaving its desperate residents to fend for themselves. When Catherine Wayne vanishes while aiding the sick, the enigmatic Hex is hired to retrieve her—only to find that the real threat may not be the disease, but the darkness that thrives in its wake. Written by Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti, with moody, atmospheric art by Moritat and colors by Mike Atiyeh, this issue delivers a tense, grounded tale of survival and mystery. The cover, by Howard Porter, captures the eerie isolation of the doomed neighborhood.
