A genuinely unsettling piece of 1943 Golden Age atmosphere, this July issue of All-American Comics presents a towering, green-faced hooded figure looming over two struggling figures — one in red, one in a striped outfit — while a pair of enormous disembodied hands close in from the sides, all anchored by the ominous headline "Murder Under the Stars!!" The cover art, penciled and inked by Irwin Hasen and Jon L. Blummer, captures that distinctive wartime pulp tension with real flair.
