Vertigo's Air reaches its twentieth issue with a cover by M. K. Perker that perfectly captures the series' off-kilter blend of the mundane and the surreal: a composed young woman in a flight-attendant uniform perches atop a massive heap of wrecked aircraft and machinery at the shoreline, calmly reading a red book as flames lick the wreckage below her. The image is quietly striking — all that chaos beneath her, and she's absorbed in the page. G. Willow Wilson and Perker close in on "A History of the Future Part II," and if this cover is any indication, the journey remains as strange and compelling as ever.
