Aftermath #2

The second volume of Humanoids' Aftermath carries the subtitle "Kali," and Mark Vigouroux's cover makes a strong case for the tension ahead: a crouching man in a trench coat and a tall, black-clad blonde figure stand amid rubble and gnarled trees while a squad of armed, masked soldiers closes in from behind, spotlights cutting through the murk. Looming overhead in the shadows are two watchful faces — a stern man and a sharp-eyed woman — whose oversized presence hints at forces pulling strings from above. James Hudnall and Vigouroux clearly have a tightly wound thriller on their hands, and this brooding, atmosphere-drenched cover sets exactly the right mood.
