Aftermath #3

The third chapter of Humanoids' Aftermath carries the ominous subtitle "Vulcan," and Mark Vigouroux's cover sets the tension immediately: aboard what appears to be an orbital station, a young woman in a worn bodysuit crouches defensively while a soldier in military fatigues braces himself nearby, debris scattered between them — all framed against a sweeping, luminous view of Earth from space. A third, shadowy figure looms at the left edge, their back to us, adding a palpable sense of threat to the scene. James Hudnall and Vigouroux clearly have a flair for high-stakes sci-fi drama, and this issue looks like exactly the kind of gripping, visually confident work that made Humanoids a destination for ambitious genre storytelling.
