A man named Bill returns to his family's forsaken countryside estate after a year away, only to encounter a supernatural wolf-like creature with a mysterious red mark on its neck—the same mark his sister mysteriously bears. As Bill investigates the creature's origin, it is revealed to be connected to a tragic incident involving his sister and a supernatural transformation. The story culminates in a supernatural confrontation where the creature's true nature and connection to Bill's family curse are exposed. In a second featured story, sculptor Ray grieves the death of a famous actress named Eve Lawson in a plane crash, only to be haunted by her presence and asked to recreate her image, with the tale exploring themes of obsession and the supernatural power of art to resurrect the dead.

When June Beaumont learns that her twin sister Alice has been murdered—likely by the gangster Tony Walters—she hatches a daring scheme to force a confession: she'll impersonate Alice's ghost, armed with nothing but phosphorescent paint and the fact that Walters doesn't know Alice had a twin. As June takes on her spectral disguise, she and District Attorney William Gordon set a trap at Walters' headquarters, but the line between playing ghost and encountering real supernatural forces begins to blur in ways neither of them anticipated.

When the doctor discovers puncture wounds on Bob's neck and the young man becomes increasingly convinced of the supernatural threat, Blake devises a skeptical plan involving archery and folklore to calm his friend's fears—but the night's events force him to confront whether superstition and reality might be closer than he believed.
