Adventure Comics #404
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeAdventure Comics #404 (March 1971) poses a striking question right on the cover: a dark-haired woman in green pins a struggling, costumed Supergirl to the ground — crying "AGGH!" — while a crowd of eerily grinning clowns and costumed figures looks on, one declaring "So much for the ex-Supergirl! Now to get on with our plan!" It's a wonderfully unsettling tableau, with the Maid of Might on the losing end of a very strange circus-tinged ambush. Mike Sekowsky pencils and Dick Giordano inks the cover, delivering a scene that's equal parts carnival oddity and genuine peril.
