The cover of this April 1970 DC issue sets up a wonderfully absurd classroom predicament: a teacher points sternly at Linda Danvers — the only student not wearing a Supergirl uniform on "Supergirl Day" — while her classmates sit around her in full blue-and-red regalia, capes and all. It's a clever bit of Silver Age irony, with Supergirl herself posed confidently in the corner logo as if blissfully unaware of her secret identity's wardrobe crisis. Cover pencils by Curt Swan and inks by Murphy Anderson give the scene that clean, expressive DC polish that made their collaboration so satisfying in this era.
