Adventure Comics #384
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeSeptember 1969 brings Supergirl front and center in Adventure Comics #384, where Superman's electronic date-matcher has apparently found her the perfect match — a flying young man named Volar (alias Ren Uoxon, from Torma, 2nd planet of Star-Sun 447B), whose holographic profile hovers between the two Kryptonians as they debate the choice. The cover, penciled by Curt Swan and inked by Murphy Anderson, perfectly captures the era's blend of superhero spectacle and soap-opera tension, with Superman's knowing smirk suggesting Supergirl's intergalactic romance may not go quite as planned. With Robert Kanigher writing and Kurt Schaffenberger on interior art, "The Heroine Haters!" promises the kind of lively, imaginative storytelling that made this run so enjoyable.
