This June 1961 issue of Adventure Comics launches something delightfully strange right on its cover: a Bizarro World baseball game where the rules are gloriously backwards, with multiple chalk-faced, "Bizarro No. 1"-badged figures in Superman suits playing ball before a stadium full of equally odd spectators. Curt Swan and Stan Kaye stage the absurdity perfectly — a Bizarro batter swings at a pitch while an umpire calls a home run an out, and a caption proudly announces this as the first installment of the new "Tales of the Bizarro World" series. At just 10 cents, it's a wonderfully off-kilter slice of early-'60s DC imagination.
