“The Bird with Super Powers”

In "The Bird with Super Powers," Superboy finds himself framed when a clever mynah bird—gifted with unexpected abilities after drinking from the same mystical African pool as Chandu, the Gorilla with X-Ray Eyes—gets stolen by a crook who paints it in Superboy’s colors. Written by Alvin Schwartz and brought to life with crisp, expressive art by Curt Swan and inks by George Klein, this 1956 Adventure Comics tale blends mystery and whimsy, with a cover by Curt Swan and Stan Kaye capturing the bird’s curious charm.

Professor Lang brings back a mynah bird that seems to have super-powers and human intelligence. It's stolen by a crook who paints it in Superboy colors to steal, so Superboy is blamed. Turns out the bird drank from the same African pool as "Chandu, the Gorilla with X-Ray Eyes" (seen in Adventure Comics 219). Superboy over-exposes the bird to the fallen meteorite and it reverts to a normal bird.
