A disastrous fire destroys the archival film holdings of the company which employs Johnny and Tubby. To prevent mass redundancies, Johnny hatches a plan to travel back in time with a movie camera and capture key moments in history. Johnny has travelled throughout time before, and worked out a wheel of time, to take him whenever he chooses. He finds that the past is not quite as that which has come down through historical records. He rescues Columbus from swampy ground, provides lightning for Benjamin Franklin, and facilitates many other key moments in history
