“The Million-Dollar Athlete!”

In "The Million-Dollar Athlete!", Captain Gregg races against time to keep his mail contract with remote South Pacific islands, facing sabotage from former smuggler Shark Barton. With Aquaman’s fan mail at stake and waterproof sacks ensuring the cargo survives the sinking, the sea itself becomes an unexpected courier. Written by Otto Binder and illustrated by John Daly, with a cover by Al Wenzel and George Roussos, this 1948 adventure blends maritime suspense with a touch of aquatic whimsy.

Captain Gregg has a mail contract to deliver to isolated islands in the South Pacific. Among his clients is Aquaman, who regularly gets a sack of fan mail. The year-long probation is almost up, after which Gregg will get a permanent contract. But Shark Barton, former smuggler, also wants that contract and tries to sabotage Gregg's deliveries by setting fire to the ship. The mail bags sink as a result, but, upon learning they are in waterproof sacks, Aquaman has his finny friends deliver them instead.
