In "The Sweetheart of the Seven Seas!" from Adventure Comics #130, Aquaman finds himself unexpectedly smitten after spotting swimming star Esther Grable at a movie theater—so much so that he boards a cross-country train to Hollywood, only to dream of her vanity and her claim that her stunt double handles all the swimming. When he wakes up in Los Angeles, Esther is there waiting, eager to ask him to teach her to swim, but Aquaman’s dream has left him skeptical.
