Action Comics #871
In "New Krypton Part 2: Beyond Doomsday," the fallout from Zod’s defeat sends former Kryptonian soldiers into Earth’s shadows, questioning why Superman stopped their general. With Luthor under General Lane’s orders to interrogate Brainiac, and Doomsday’s rampage escalating, Superman finds unexpected allies in Supergirl, her parents, and the Kandorians—leading to a brutal battle on the moon where the tide turns in a shocking, decisive moment. The issue’s dramatic climax sees Zod’s soldiers attempting to free their leader from the Phantom Zone, only to be intercepted by Nightwing and Flamebird. Penciled and inked by Pete Woods, with colors by Brad Anderson and letters by Rob Leigh, the story unfolds with intensity under Alex Ross’s striking cover.
