Powerless Superman crashes in the Antarctic on his way to the Fortress, and is found by a research team whom he helps battle an energy creature. Perry White learns his next cancer treatment could kill him. Superman makes it to the Fortress to try to restore his powers, but fails. Suddenly, he is swept up by Mr. Miracle and Big Barda and taken away in a Boom Tube.
