Part three of "The Sinbad Contract" arrives in this October 1990 installment, and the cover — penciled by Kerry Gammill and inked by Bob McLeod — puts the stakes front and center: a massive, crumbling spaceship looms over Metropolis while Superman hovers near it in urgent warning, and a young man identified as Davood hurls himself toward the craft, declaring that without his intervention everyone in the city will perish in the blast. It's a tense, high-altitude standoff that captures exactly the kind of self-sacrifice-versus-caution drama that made Superman stories of this era so compelling.
