“Doppelgänger, Part 1”

In "Doppelgänger, Part 1," Pat Mills and artist Montero launch a gripping sci-fi tale as Hart, a man whose transparent skin renders him visible to the world, ventures into space under the promise of a cure. With inks by Montero and letters by Jack Potter, the story unfolds with tense urgency as Hart soon realizes the scientists have no intention of helping him—and his decision to stay in orbit changes everything. Dave Gibbons' striking cover captures the isolation and stakes of the moment.

Hart, desperate for an antidote to his condition (ie. "visibility'- his transparent skin) agrees to go into space so the boffins can see the effect it has on the body's organs. Once in space he realises that they have no intention of giving him the antidote, so he refuses to come back.
