What you’re looking at
This page is primarily **advertisements and articles**, not political satire. The main content includes: **"Why Wear Clothes?"** - An article citing Dr. Paul Goldsbury's argument that clothing is unhealthy and economically burdensome. He suggests going unclad would eliminate the need for tariffs, department stores, and tailoring industries. This reflects early 20th-century health fads promoting naturism/nudism as beneficial, though the piece appears somewhat tongue-in-cheek. **Advertisements** dominate the page: Forhan's toothpaste (addressing gum disease), Basline Autowline (a towing rope), The Biltmore restaurant, Allen's Foot-Ease powder, and Bell-Ans indigestion remedy—typical period products. **"Things That Never Were"** - A small illustration captioned about Jupiter and the office—unclear without full context. The page reflects 1920s consumer culture and pseudoscientific health claims common to that era. There is **no political cartoon** present.

Why Wear Clothes? R. PAUL GOLDSBURY the habit of wearing clothes is un- healthy and advises us to think serious- ly about going without them. “Tf one can find a place in the coun- try where he can feel in retirement, short morning or evening walks, un- clad, over the soft grasses will be en- lightening.” We have long thought that some- thing ought to be done about the wear- ing of clothes. Dr. Goldsbury says that it is very much like wearing a mask—we do not realize how uncom- fortable it really is until we have been without it, and then have to assume it again. Catching cold is due entirely to the fact that we wear clothes. If we could dispense with them we might have trouble for a short time—until the skin thinks 1 here is danger in tender gums 'O preserve healthy teeth, the ordinary tooth. paste is futile. At first the gums become tender though actual gum- shrinkage is imperceptible. But ina shorttime receding gums will flanen your lips and age your mouth. And the gums become hardier, firmer, more vig- orously tenacious in their tooth-support, Forhan’s, in fact, scientifically polishes teeth and strikes at the fundamentals of tooth trouble, Can your toothpaste offer this?
