THIS SETTLES IT. R. CHARLES A. DANA, with his customary modesty of tone, prints the following editorial paragraph in his New York Sun: We hereby award the foot- ball championship of 1895 to Yale University. Lire is glad to have this matter finally settled by an authority which always voices its senti- ments modestly and with- out conceit. Referee, umpire, and linesmen seemed to coincide with this opinion. Remembering, however, that the Sum has never yet awarded the 1876 Presi- dential term officially, we are not sure that Mr. Hayes was ever President of the United States. Until the present award we were in grave doubt about the result of the Yale-Princeton game, But we've seen it in the Sun, and it’s so.
