Si Spurrier
Simon "Si" Spurrier was born on 2 May 1981 in the United Kingdom. Before breaking into comics, he worked as a cook, a bookseller, and an art director for the BBC. He began his career in the British small press, eventually writing for *2000 AD* on series such as *Lobster Random*, *Bec & Kawl*, *The Simping Detective*, and *Harry Kipling*, as well as numerous *Judge Dredd* stories. Spurrier later moved into American comics, primarily with Marvel, where he wrote *X-Force* in 2014–2015, featuring Cable, Psylocke, Marrow, and Fantomex. He co-wrote *Star Wars: Doctor Aphra* with Kieron Gillen from late 2017, taking over as sole writer in 2018. His other notable credits include *Doctor Who: The Eleventh Doctor, Year Two*, *The Shadow*, *Motherlands*, *Hook Jaw*, *Black Knight: Curse of the Ebony Blade*, and *Justice League*. Spurrier has also written novels, including *Contract* (2007) and *A Serpent Uncoiled* (2011). He remains active in the industry, with a career spanning from 2013 to 2026.
