P. J. Holden
Paul Jason Holden, born 28 December 1969 in Northern Ireland, is a Belfast-based comic artist best known for his long-running work with 2000 AD and its sister publications. He broke into the industry in the late 1990s, contributing to Warhammer Monthly and the Judge Dredd Megazine before becoming a regular fixture in 2000 AD. Over a career spanning from 1997 to 2018, he has been credited as artist or inker on over forty issues, with his most frequent credits appearing in 2000 AD, Judge Dredd Megazine, and the war series Battlefields. Holden’s clean, dynamic linework and strong storytelling have made him a reliable hand on flagship characters, including Rogue Trooper, Judge Dredd, and the cult favourite Johnny Woo. He also contributed to the World of Tanks comic, the fantasy-horror Dept. of Monsterology, and the all-ages humour title Dandy Lion. While not a flashy superstar, Holden’s steady, professional output has earned him respect among British comics readers and editors alike. He remains based in Belfast, and his body of work stands as a solid example of the dependable craft that keeps the weekly anthologies running.
