Orzechowski
Tom Orzechowski (born 1953) is an American comic book letterer, best known for his decades-long collaboration with writer Chris Claremont on the X-Men family of titles. He entered the industry in 1974 and became a defining voice in comic book lettering through his work on *The New Mutants*, *Excalibur*, and *Captain Marvel*. His distinctive hand-lettering style, marked by expressive balloon shapes and dynamic sound effects, helped shape the visual storytelling of Marvel’s mutant books during the 1980s and 1990s. Orzechowski also contributed to *Doctor Strange* and the independent series *Coyote* and *Coyote Collection*. He is credited with lettering 21 issues across his career, which ran through 2020. His work on *The New Mutants* and *Excalibur* remains particularly celebrated for its clarity and emotional nuance.
