Olivier Ledroit
1969–
Olivier Ledroit was born on 3 June 1969 in France. He is best known as the artist behind the long-running fantasy series *Black Moon Chronicles*, which established his reputation for ornate, gothic-infused fantasy artwork. Ledroit began his professional comics career in 1989, and over the next three decades he contributed to nearly 50 issues as an artist, colorist, inker, and occasionally writer. His most prominent credits include *Wika*, the *Black Moon Chronicles* series in multiple languages, and the dark vampire saga *Requiem Chevalier Vampire*, for which he provided the art alongside writer Pat Mills. He also collaborated with Mills on the series *Sha*. Beyond comics, Ledroit created art designs for the *Might and Magic* video game franchise. His style is characterized by intricate linework, lavish detail, and a baroque, macabre sensibility that became a hallmark of French fantasy comics. Ledroit’s later work continued to explore supernatural and medieval themes, cementing his place as a distinctive voice in European bande dessinée. While he has not received major mainstream awards, his influence is felt across the fantasy genre, and his series remain cult favorites among readers of dark fantasy and horror comics.
