Kronieken van de Zwarte Maan #16
The long-running Dutch dark-fantasy series Kronieken van de Zwarte Maan reaches its sixteenth volume with "Terra Secunda – Boek 2," and Olivier Ledroit's cover alone makes a compelling case for picking it up. A colossal serpentine deity — crowned with a cobra's hood and ringed by writhing tentacle-like snakes — dominates an ornate, cathedral-scale chamber, while rows of diminutive figures line the walls and a lone, tiny warrior stands at the center of a circular floor medallion far below. Froideval's writing and Fabrice Angleraud's artwork continue the saga in 2020 with all the grandeur and menace the series has always promised.
