Marguerite Sauvage

Marguerite Sauvage is a French illustrator and comic book artist known for her elegant, fashion-inflected linework and soft, luminous color palettes. Born in France, she began her career in illustration for press, publishing, and advertising, with her work recognized in the Society of Illustrators 49th and American Illustration annuals. She entered comics in the mid-2010s, quickly becoming a sought-after artist for DC Comics. Sauvage is best known for her runs on *Bombshells* and *Faith*, where her graceful, dynamic figures and period-inspired designs brought a distinctive visual identity to superhero stories. She also contributed to *The Life of Captain Marvel*, *Archie*, *Wonder Woman*, and *1602: Witch Hunter Angela*, often working as both artist and colorist. Her style—characterized by flowing lines, expressive faces, and a delicate sense of movement—made her a natural fit for character-driven, emotionally resonant narratives. In 2016, she was nominated for the Russ Manning Award, and in 2017 she received nominations for the Eisner Award, the Joe Shuster Award, and the GLAAD Media Award. Sauvage remains active in the industry, with her work spanning over forty issues from 2014 to 2024, and is celebrated for bringing a refined, feminine sensibility to mainstream comics.
