Lilah Sturges (born Matthew Sturges, October 1970) is an American writer of comics and fantasy novels, best known for co-writing the Eisner-nominated series *Jack of Fables* with Bill Willingham. She was born in October 1970. Sturges entered comics through her collaboration with Willingham, bringing a sharp, playful voice to the Vertigo/DC Comics spin-off of the *Fables* universe. Her signature work blends wit, adventure, and character-driven storytelling, often exploring themes of identity and transformation. Beyond *Jack of Fables*, she has written for *Everafter: From the Pages of Fables*, *Lumberjanes* (including the graphic novels *The Infernal Compass*, *The Shape of Friendship*, and *True Colors*), and *Thor: Worthy Origins*. Sturges is noted for her work on the *Lumberjanes* series, where she contributed to the franchise’s inclusive, whimsical tone. She has also written fantasy novels. Later in her career, she has been an advocate for transgender visibility in comics, having come out as a trans woman. Her contributions have been recognized with an Eisner Award nomination for *Jack of Fables*.
