Kev Hopgood
Kev Hopgood, born 25 August 1961, is a British comic artist whose career has spanned from the mid-1980s into the 2020s. He is best known for his work in science fiction and fantasy, with a particular focus on licensed properties. Hopgood’s path into comics began in 1984, and he soon became a regular contributor to *Doctor Who Magazine*, where his clean, dynamic style suited the series’ otherworldly settings. He also drew extensively for *Warhammer Monthly*, *Action Force Monthly*, and *G.I. Joe European Missions*, often handling art, coloring, and inking duties. His collaborations included work on *2000 A. D. Showcase* and the *Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers Annual*. While Hopgood did not create major original characters, his steady, professional output made him a reliable presence in British comics, particularly for readers of licensed science-fiction titles. His later work remained within the genre, and he continued to contribute to the industry through the 2010s and into 2026. Though not a recipient of major industry awards, Hopgood’s consistent craftsmanship earned him respect among fans of British comics and licensed tie-ins.
